Privacy Policy Health Matters This Privacy Policy describes how and when we collect, use, and share information when you attend an appointment at our clinic, purchase a product from us, contact us, or otherwise use my services. This is to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018. Information We Collect To aid your treatment or as part of purchasing something from our business you will normally provide us with certain information, such as your name, postal address and medical information. We will store your information on a paper patient record and diary system which is fully password protected and not shared with anyone. No information is collected or shared as a result of visiting this website. Why We Need Your Information and How We Use It We rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including: o Where it is necessary for the purposes of the provision of health care as needed to provide our services, such as when we use your information to fulfil your podiatry assessment and treatment, or to provide customer support; o If necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law. Information Sharing and Disclosure Information about our patients/customers is important to our business. We share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows: o Medical professionals. With your consent we will share information with medical professionals such as your GP or consultant to allow continuity of care. o Business transfers. If We sell or merge our business, we may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law and with your consent. o Compliance with laws. We may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I am legally required to. Data Retention I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. The retention of podiatry records is normally a minimum of 8 years, after the last appointment. For customers who are not patients but may have bought products from my business I will keep any data you may have provided for a minimum of 6 years in line with tax legislation. Your Rights You have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. We describe these rights below: o Access. You have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the contact information below. o Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict our use of, or delete your personal information. In the case of health records these are normally exempt from change and deletion requests. o Object. You can object to (i) our processing of some of your information based on our legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from us after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, we will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons. o Complain. Kay Weetch and Ian Phillips are Podiatrists (and are therefore registered under the Healthcare Professions Council). They are also members of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. This means that you receive treatment and advice based upon a wealth of experience and expertise. To obtain State Registration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Podiatry took 3 years at university and included a minimum of 1,000 hours practical clinical time. HCPC Registration is a legal requirement for individuals who are Chiropodists or Podiatrists. Individuals using these legally protected titles without registration may be liable to prosecution.

Kay and Ian bring a combined total of over 45 years of experience to the clinic which has been established since 1990.

Free parking is available in either of the town’s car parks or on some extensive on road parking. The newly equipped waiting and clinical rooms offer comfortable seating, reading material and complimentary refreshments.

Late night opening is now available on request.

Home visits are also available for patients with significant mobility issues who are unable to attend the clinic. An additional charge applies to cover the extra traveling costs. Please contact us for more details.

Kay Weetch attended Cardiff Institute for Podiatry from 1990-1993 where she gained a degree in podiatry. She moved to Somerset and for three years worked in Private practice in Taunton. She then took the post as Diabetes Specialist Podiatrist for Somerset at Musgrove Park Hospital in 1996. As part of that role she taught undergraduate doctors, GPs, university students and many healthcare professionals across Somerset. She gained her Certificate of education from Tiverton college to help her with this. As part of her role as diabetes specialist she took further study in wound care and got her post graduate diploma from Cardiff University in 2010.

Kay bought the practice in Wiveliscombe in 2009 and ran it concurrently with her NHS work until 2014 when she chose to leave the NHS and concentrate on the private practice. She works on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and alternate Saturdays.
